A typical road local with a borrowed Meridan Speedway SD38-2 hustles cars through Alabama. This local works a Georgia Pacific plywood veneer mill and is heavy with cars used in pulp and timber service. Veneer logs go in, waste wood is chipped and forwarded to paper mills and the plywood is loaded into special boxcars to protect it from the weather. A lone aggregate hopper (likely set out to replace a bad wheel) tails out the freight consist ahead of a caboose used for long shoving moves.
